  • Were sincerely wish to give clear witness to the faith refuse to yield even on peripheral matters
  • Flacius said even if the Philippists had yielded only on peripheral matters, they had refused to confess their faith
  • Accused the philippists of givein too much credit to human participation in salvation
  • Emphasized the corruption of human nature as a result of sin
  • Flacius came to affirm that the very nature for fallen humankind is corruption\
  • Insisted on the contrast between Luther and Calvin in their interpretations of the Lord's presence in communion
